i love school here

why do i love schooling here more than in singapore??

because people welcome feedback. unlike in singapore or most asian countries, you have to keep your mouth shut at all costs. if you mention something that your boss does not like to hear, you are doomed.

people here are very open.

last friday, i went to look for my professor, the one teaching women's studies. i told her that the readings that she has assigned are seriously too much. 6-7 articles a day (+ the english is so freaking hard to understand), will drive people nuts. actually i had complained to her before on this issue and last friday, i told her the same thing again. and you know what she's going to do. she told me that for the next 2 weeks, the readings would be much lesser and that it would also be easier to understand. hooray!!

also i remembered last semester, the business college actually gave out meal voucher for those who attended a feedback session on how to improve the college. gosh, imagine giving out stuff for a no-brainer thing. way to go man!

this is also why US is the number 1 country in the world. always encouraging feedback for improvement.
