Over-eating

muahahaha the pictures are solid huh!!!! we had so much food. everything was jaz insane.

for the 1st round of pigging, we spent like 2 hours eating and after the feast, we watched inital D and a stephen chow's movie. after the movies, it was like 12+ already and we got hungry again. that was when the 2nd round of eating came in.

i ate so much that i woke up at 6+ in the morning cause i felt like vomitting. i felt so terrible and tried so hard to vomit the stuff out but nothing came out. i'm like.. what the heck, i'm too tired and sleepy. whatever, if i puke in my sleep then so be it.

so.. i went back to bed, feeling very nausea and FULL. this is my punishment for eating too much.

no food after 12am from now on.

Happy Chinese New year everyone!!!!!

i love CNY in a way because i get to collect ang baos, hang out with my intermediate uncles and auntie +++ grandma!!!! and eat steamboat. other than that, i prefer to stay at home and watch TV.

i remembered during one of the CNYs, i got chicken pox. gannasai.. out of the 365 days in a year, i got chicken pox at that time. but all is well, cause i got special treatment from everyone. my dad gave me an extra BIG packet and my cousins all came to visit me. yay!!!! [hey anyway, they benefited in coming to my place cause they also got a special ang bao from my dad, not the usual ONE DIGIT $$$$] see... it pays off to be nice!

Where did Carol learn about loyalty and friendship?

i stared at the screen for a while before i could start blogging on this topic.

i seriously do not have any long-term memory. is there anyone out there who has got both good long and short-term memory or is it either or?

allan and i had a chat on msn and we started talking about the old days. holly molly, i think I can only remember 30% of what happened during secondary school days. all i could remember were general events or SUPER BIG DUA ZHONG stuff.

okay here are some [better write it down on my blog before i forget more]:

after school, my pretty regular activity would be to go to the block opposite and watch people fight. see... my school is a neighbourhood school, so fighting is pretty common. you don't like me, okay fight. you stare at me, fight also. you say something bad about me, fight! haha so everyday, there were no lack of fights. thank God that in my four years there, no one picked a fight with me.

1) i'm too adorable to be picked a fight.

2) i'm clever enough to get those really powerful seniors to back me up. see.. this is when the brain comes in. EQ not IQ. [carol uses EQ most of the time, IQ only when it is absolutely necessary].

i guess ultimately, i did know the right people

however, i did once pick a fight with a girl cause she is extremely b***** and it caused a big big stir in school. i cannot really remember what exactly happened. the only that i can remember was that pretty much most seniors in the school got involved. in the end, i think one of my seniors settled the problem for me without any fight.

i had a good friend call marie. her house was just right next to school so i kinda made use of her to do some personal activity haha. for eg.. i used to like a guy in school so sometime when i'm at her place, i will peak out of her window to see if he was leaving school and going home. Haha
---- TO MARK: "don't get angry okay... that was a-gazillion years ago :) to make it up, i CAN try to be your slave for a day (err...... if you dare)

i had made some really wonderful wonderful friends in school. i don't regret going to neighbourhood school cause alot of them taught me things that you can't learn in school --- loyalty and friendship. alot of them don't come from very rich family, but they treasure friendship and loyalty so much that its insane -- things you can't use money to buy. i know that these people are friends with me for life. if i were to call them up at 4 in the morning, i could pretty much bet my head that they will be there for me. i know that i can go drinking with them and get piss drunk, they will definitely be there to take care of me.

i am truly thankful that i have never have friends who betray and backstab me [cross finger. i hope that will not happen to me forever].

thus, i didn't regret screwing up PSLE and didn't get into a good secondary school. actually, i'm kind of thankful that i got into a neighbourhood school cause i have learned so much about life. SCREW IQ!!!!!

anyhow, i think most people who knew me know that i treasure most friendships alot. just wanna say that i learned this through my friends in secondary school. thanks to them!!! they were the one who showed me the beauty of loyalty and life.

back to the topic of memory. ---CONCLUSION---

well, is good to have good memory of the past. however, i think one must look ahead than to look back most of the time cause what past is past. learn from experiences and move on. that's life isn't it? :-)

Comment

in response to the previous post.

* IN SHOCK*

looking back at the previous post. i might have become more americanized that i thought. shit!

when people call me [other than fellow singaporeans] on my cell phone, my first few words would be "what's up".

i like the word --- DUDE.. "hey dude, what's up?". i call mark dude and mark call me dudette.

i used to detest eating ketchup with my french fries, now i love it.

i spell color as color. not colour anymore.

sometime, i pronoun flour as flo-wer. what the heck??

i have become as fricking lazy as the americans. when i go out, i will make sure that my parking spot is as close to the shop as possible. louanne and clifton can't stand me.

my skin is thicker now. i learned to speak up more.

i abuse the term individual rights!!! when my dad was here on holiday and he was nagging at me for something that i did. i shot him back immediately.. hey respect my individual rights okay!!! haha.

die lah. like that how to survive in singapore. getting a parking spot in singapore in ONE BIG HEADACHE ALRADY. siao liao.

also, i'm pretty sure my friends will laugh their head off when i pronoun flour as flower. i can visualize their evil laugh at me --- stupid kang tang kia. go to america, become like that. hopeless, no use. before i came to the states, they already call me potato already, oh no.. so what am i gonna to do?

OPENINGS!!

OH YAY!!!!! BANANA REPUBLIC AND GAP will be opening soon in singapore.

haha. that means that if i were to go back singapore, i would be less overseas-sick. i hope they open old navy too!!!

cool.... gap, banana republic, old navy and carl's junior. yah!!!

Decision to be made

it is another new day on this planet. i don't know why i'm still in the united states, but i am.

there are too many things on my head now. too many decisions to make and too many questions to ask. this is a point in my life where a decision will make a very big difference in my future.

like what i told most of my friends and [some who eventually became my personnal psychologists], that 3/4 of me really hope to go back home and 1/4 of me wish to remain here.

will i be able to handle singapore if i go back? i'm not the same girl who left singapore for the states nearly four years ago. the one big reason that i hope to go back is i miss the days that i spent with my family == HOMESICK and also the sessions that i have with my friends == FRIENDSICK. clifton asks me one question the other day --- what is more important to you? earning good money or relationship? this is a no-brainer question for me. YES. money is important to a certain degree but i do not base my life on that. in this world, nothing beats family ties and friendships.

when you are helpless and alone, money can't help you. when you are sick and about to die, money can't cure you. i think when you are about to die, the things that will be on your mind are memories that you have with your family or friends.

okay. so up to here. you guys might be thinking.. hey isn't it obvious as to which path she should take? oh well, my answer is kind of. i'm a person who pretty much knows what i want. BUT... then sometime, life is not about me and me alone.

if i do get a job, i can gain some experiences over here and this would be very helpful for me if i were to go back home. THINK LONG TERM. another main thing is that my dad really wishes me to stay here. he always says the life in singapore is crazy. well, or should i say that there is nothing call life in singapore.

argh!!

Sunrise Skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

skiing trip was downright fun. we all had a blast. im so proud of myself. this time, i managed to wack the more difficult slope with mark and clifton. clifton was funny to watch when skiing. that guy came down the slope so fast that whoever he knocked into, that person is going to fly down to the base in seconds. therefore, i always chose to go AFTER him.

our body was aching after that... but.......... no worries!!!!! holiday inn has sauna and a whirlpool. it was so damn shiok to soak in there after a long day. after that, came the steamboat. the day was perfect man!! it was a great trip and we were not that tired as i thought we will be.

mark is so cute in that ski jacket. haha, he looks like a small little kid. Posted by Picasa

after the ski!!!!!! we all had a GREAT GREAT time there. as usual, we were the last few to return the rentals and the last few to leave the place.. funny thing is that since coming to the US, we were not the kiasu singaporeans anymore. in fact, we were always the LAST. when we went to New York, we were also the last to board the plane. the crew member had to broadcast our names to tell us that the plane is leaving soon in 5 mins. haha Posted by Picasa

after a day of skiing, sauna, whirlpool, it is the time for some FOOD!!!! the steamboat was shiok beyond shiok... Posted by Picasa

Big Lake Posted by Picasa

okay.. this is a classic story. the morale of it is NOT TO LAUGH AT OTHER PEOPLE.

before heading home, we needed to fill up the gas. not sure if is the pressure/altitude or what but it was taking a LONG TIME. after a while we got tired and got back into the car to wait. while waiting, we were lauging at other big trunks and SUVs, saying that haha, those big stuff will have to wait very long. so........ we sat there talking and laughing. after a while, a guy came and told us that THE PETROL FROM OUR CAR was OVERFLOWING.. holy molly, we got out and darn.. it really did overflow. we were like, what the heck??? doesn't it stop automatically and by the time we got the people to clean it up, the rest of the cars all drove off... hai............ don't laugh at people the next time okay!!!
 Posted by Picasa

the next day, we decided to go to a nearby lake before heading home. oh man, it was pretty gorgeous and darn cold - the whole place is so nice and green that we forgotten we are in arizona. see... arizona is still the best, there are so many things yet to be discovered!!!! Posted by Picasa

at the general store, we found some cool liqueur. godiva white chocolate, honey liqueur and i dont know what the heck is after shock. mark says that after shock is common but i have not seen that evil stuff before. Posted by Picasa

Beautiful white mountain

i'm going skiing tomorrow. since is a long weekend, all of us (mark, me, clifton and louanne) decide to go chiong the white mountain.

it is gonna be a pretty tiring trip i think. the four monkeys are going to leave the house at 5am, drive 5 hours there and immediately go wack the mountain. because of the rush schedule, i would think that we will be ulterly shack out by the time we go back to the hotel. haha.. but ONE PLUS thing is that the hotel that we are staying in has a sauna and a whirlpool. cool isn't it?

also, being greedy and fun singaporeans, we are going to bring our rice cooker there and have steamboat in our room. hope is gonna work cause rice cooker takes a while to cook stuff. yay!! skiing, here we come. voom voom voom..

YUM YUM!!!

this post onwards is all about the f... word. so.... if you are not prepared, GET OUT!!

FOOD!!!!! now, not only can i drink wine with cheese, i can drink wine with bak kua. i'm a happy girl cause i got bat zan to eat. damn long never eat that already and that's one of my favourite food.

singaporeans are sick.. nobody wants to waste food (we got some leftover tortilla from yesterday's night dinner) so mark cooked himself an egg and decided to roll it and eat that with the tortilla. as for clifton, he wrapped some fried rice with tortilla with so ikan billis inside.. what kaoz..... when it comes to food, no one can beat singaporeans man.
 Posted by Picasa

SoLID!!

wau pian eh.. my house is like a mini provision shop. super well stocked. whatever you want, comfirm can find. also, the number of prima deli pastes i have, wau... is enough to start a library. i've got the bat ku teh section, laksa section, curry section blah blah..

new year goodies are also stocked up. thia paste, indonesia paste. whatever man!! my mum came, she brought stuff, louanne came back from singapore also brought stuff back, then come mark. SOLID AH...

also, mark's aunt scared that the custom will check on the prima deli stuff so she got the people to write a letter about the ingredients that are inside the paste. haha, that's funny.

winter in tucson... in skirt and bermuda shorts.. hahahaha.. Posted by Picasa

okay. stupid clifton got me quite into the whole cheese thingy. on sat, we decided to go trader joe's to get more cheese so that we can eat that and drink our wine at night. err... in the end, i don't think we chose the right thing. it is also gouda cheese but it tastes quite different from the one he bought back.

also, at TJ's, i found this weird post. liqueur cake ($1.49) but you need to be at least 21 before you can buy that. huh?? seriously that solid ah. you eat one slice, you get drunk already isit?

clifton has cravings for mexican food when he got back so we brought him to crossroads. very good food. decent price and big servings. YUM! Posted by Picasa

Good influence

clifton might not be such a bad influence after all. he suggested that we go running tomorrow morning. later in the day, we can go to the library and get some books to read in the cafe. hm... i really need some good influence at this time and not spend so much time in front of that stupid laptop.

i went to get my eyes checked today. holly molly, it is not good news. the reason why my degree went up is that i've been staring at the dumb screen too often and too long. i need to use the computer less.

Breakie Breakie

i had an interesting breakfast today and is DELICIOUS. i'm thinking... i might be well-equipped for the european lifestyle ;)

clifton preparing breakfast. what a way to start our day!! that sausage looks kinda disgusting and the white stuff looks like mould but the taste is really good! DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER DUDE!
Posted by Picasa

haha, today we were all crazy, especially with clifton around, everything is crazy. he suggested that we have some ham, cheese and wine for breakfast. woo... i always love doing things out of the norm sometimes so onz ah!!!! IT'S 10:30 in the morning but who cares!! i have enough worries in my head but is time to put them aside and enjoy this meal Posted by Picasa

once again, our breakfast in the morning.. cheese, ham and wine in europe style Posted by Picasa

Greetings from Europe

woo hoo.. i don't have to go to spain, paris, rome, barcelona to experience the culture and the life there. with clifton yanking all day long about these places, it is enough to fill us with the knowledge. also, he has brought back tonnes of real authentic food to trigger our taste buds. even though some might look DIGUSTING, they taste pretty good.

packs and packs of meat that he bought back. don't have to cook them, just eat them as it is with wine and cheese. yum!!! Posted by Picasa

okay.. that boy really brought back alot of ham. the eerily white long stuff is the saussage. even though it looks disgusting, it actually tastes pretty good. also, the yellow stuff on the right is the chesse, guoda cheese. oh.. oh... that is really yummy. one of the best i had so far, especially if you eat that with wine.
